I was born in the village of Ullapool in the western Highlands of Scotland. I was at a social evening, in the village hall that I first met Mike Gould. At that time I was working as a Probationary Nurse in a hospital in Inverness. I was home for the weekend. The year was 1944. We were married on May18, 1946. Two months later we left Scotland for Newfoundland.
